Worcester Police responded to an apartment building for a welfare check only to find notes left for responders indicating the presence of hazardous chemicals left in side. It is believed the chemical concoction was left in an attempt for her to take her life. The District 3 Hazmat team was called to the scene. A tier 2 response was initiated. Upon entry hazmat teams found the apartment's occupant to still be alive. The individual was removed from the apartment and deconed prior to being transported to a local hospital. Unfortunately the owner's dog succumbed to the chemicals. The Department of Fire Services rehab unit based in Stow responded for support as well as the Worcester Box 4 Canteen. This was run number 2 for the day and career of the canteen.
