What came in as a regular call for medical assistance triggered a technical rescue response from Worcester Firefighters.

A call reporting a construction worker who had fallen 10 feet in a below grade, open area under Front Street prompted firefighters to respond with specialized equipment to help extricate the worker from the area.
Companies were able to successfully carry out the worker to a waiting ambulance without the need to lift him out.
He was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
