While out doing errands in the city I heard a detail officer radio into the dispatcher of a building fire on Adams Street on the east side of the city.
Officers reported the porches were on fire. I was on Coburn Ave which was only a short distance away. I started that was as companies were being dispatched.
I was close enough to be first due but I couldn't see anything. I then had found a house set back behind some commercial occupancies. It was just a small fire on the railing of an exterior porch. Probably careless disposal of smoking material.
Engine 12 stretched a line and hit it while the assignment was broken down.
