Auburn Firefighters received a call of a possible boating accident on Dark Brook Reservoir on Thursday, September 17th.
Firefighters arrived to find an unoccupied boat doing circles in the water. It was unknown where the operator was. It was believed he had fallen out of the boat.
The regional dive team was activated to respond to begin a search. Due to the earlier sunsets this time of year they had called the search off shortly after dark. They resumed the search early the next morning.
The regional dive team was assisted by the Massachusetts State Police Dive Team and the Massachusetts Environmental Police.
A search and rescue K9 from the Auburn Fire Department had two different hits on a specific area and focused their search there. Fire department divers recovered the victim a short time later.
