Wednesday April 13 Leicester Firefighters were called to 405 Mulberry Street for a report of a building fire.

After I dropped Patrick off at station 2 so he could catch the engine I proceeded to the scene.

The location was less than 5 minutes away. Chief Wilson arrived to find a 2 story single family house fully involved. I arrived right after him before any apparatus.

Mulberry Street is in a more rural section of town not served by fire hydrants. Companies had to use a hydrant near the Worcester line. An engine was needed there for in line pumping.

There was an above ground pool at the residence that firefighters set a portable pump into to also help with water supply.

As crews arrived they prepared big lines to go to work as a reliable water supply was secured.

Mutual aid responded from surrounding communities to work at the fire and to man vacant Leicester stations.

The occupants of the residence were home at the time of the fire and escaped unharmed.

Windows of the residence had blown out and were scattered around the yard.

No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation by Leicester Fire and Police departments as well as troopers assigned to the State Fire Marshal's office
