Here is a small gallery of images from the dedication of the Auburn Fire training tower on 11/6/2021.

The training tower was dedicated to retired Chief Roger Belhumeur who passed away in 2016 after a long battle with cancer.

Roger joined the fire department in 1966. He was the first full time firefighter when he was promoted to fire inspector in 1978. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1982. Promoted to chief of department in 1987. Roger was the first full time chief of the department. He then retired in 2002.

Chief Belhumeur was a founding member of Fire District 7. Roger was also a great advocator for the fire department as well as the fire service in general.

I had the pleasure of knowing Roger as my time as a fire explorer in Auburn. Roger was a great guy and a great chief who was well respected.

Roger would be very proud of this new facility.
