An excavator had fallen down a steep embankment pinning the operator underneath it.
Chief Belsito immediately called for the District 7 tech rescue team and a heavy duty rotator tow truck from Direnzos towing.
Crews worked feverishly to try to lift the excavator off of the victim.
Unfortunately the victim passed from his injuries.
Chief Belsito asked that I thank for him all the members of the Sutton Police and Fire Departments, Medstar Ambulance, District 7 tech rescue team, members of the district 7 communications team, Massachusetts State Police, Worcester County District Attorneys office, Massachusetts Department of Fire Services Special Operations, Grafton Canteen and Direnzos Towing for their team work in this extremely difficult call.
