First arriving firefighters found an occupied house well involved in fire.
The occupant had grabbed his dog and jumped from a first floor window.
He was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
Mutual aid was requested to the scene from Paxton and Leicester while other communities occupied the vacant Spencer firehouse.
Firefighters mounted an exterior attack using big lines and a master stream from the Spencer tower.
