Wednesday January 17th Dispatchers at the Worcester Regional Communications Center received calls reporting a structure fire on Foster Court In the Rochdale section of town. The Rochdale fire station is located across the street.

Firefighters could see fire and smoke in the distance as they approached the fire station. Crews arrived to find heavy fire showing from the rear of the wood frame structure. After dropping Patrick off at station 2 to hop the engine I responded down.

A 2nd alarm was called bringing in mutual aid from surrounding towns to fight the fire and to also cover the empty Leicester stations. Crews knocked down the heavy fire in the rear of the house. The roof was then vented and heavy fire was showing out of the vent hole.

A 3rd alarm was called for man power. The balloon frame construction allowed the fire to extend throughout the house.

After a couple hours the fire was brought under control.
