On Wednesday August 25th I was invited to Worcester Airport to photograph their crash rescue drill.

The drill took place off of a closed runway. A piece of machinery was used to simulate the location of an aircraft that was reported to have skidded off the runway.

Massport fire worked in conjunction with their mutual aid partners from Worcester fire, Leicester fire and Paxton fire. These are the departments that would respond to an aircraft incident at the airport.

Worcester EMS also responded along with Transformative Heathcare as well as Vital Ambulance to provide medical aid to the “victims” Central Mass EMS (region 2 CMED) was on scene to make sure that all victims once triaged were transported to the appropriate hospitals based on their conditions.

I would like to thank Chief Joe DeGrace and Deputy Chief Carl Taylor from Massport Fire for allowing me to document their drill for them. I would also like to thank everyone at Massport Fire for their hospitality.

If anyone would like a drill or training evolution documented feel free to give me a call!
