Here are a gallery of images I captured in NYC on Tuesday 5/13/2025.

The first set of images were taken at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, home of the FDNY Marine Battalion. Some photos of the numerous boats were taken as well as the new Marine Battalion. The boat was made by Safe Boats International based outside of Seattle, Washington.

Next are a set of images from a storage area dubbed Area 51 in Greenpoint Queens. This facility is a storage area for fully stocked reserve apparatus and spare apparatus. You’ll find everything from Engines to Towers and everything in between.

After that we took a trip to the Review Ave shops down the street. Review Ave is home to the light duty shops. Pretty much anything smaller than a pumper is repaired here. They will be moving to Borden Ave in the near future.

Then to the main shops in Long Island City for the Fire Bell Club meeting. Every year the shops is gracious to host us for out May meeting. All of the maintenance facilities down there never cease to amaze me. There are more apparatus on the shops floors than some departments have in front line service.

There were numerous brand new vehicle on display for us to check out. There were 2025 95’ Tower Ladders for Ladders 9 and 152. Ladder 84’s brand new 100’ rear mount was on display. The other new vehicles were EMS related. One of thirteen Mach E Paramedic Response Units were on display along with one of five bariatric ambulances, one of 20 BeHeard (Behavioral Health unit) and one of thirty five EMS supervisors vehicles.

The Super Pumper was also on display again as well as Rescue 5. The 9/11 Memorial ambulance was also on display.

We also get to check out everything else on the shops floor. Trucks in for all types of repairs from brake jobs to replacing radiators.
They also maintain a large inventory of parts. They are able to switch booms on tower ladders and sticks on aerial ladders.

There are a lot of apparatus on order. All Seagrave
