April 29th- Took a trip to NYC with some friends to chase some red trucks around. We cruised the city in hopes of catching a fire or two. It is tough to buff in NYC because of traffic. You could be 5 minutes away from a fire but it could take you 20 minutes to get there. With the way FDNY staffs their trucks and their aggressive firefighting its hard to actually see fire.

We stopped at Nathan’s Famous in Coney Island for some dogs. We had a lot of first timers with us.

We actually made it to an all hands fire on Mother Gaston Boulevard in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn. The fire was out but they were still doing some overhauling and making up. We were able to get a few shots.

During the day we also made stops at Myrtle Ave to pay our respects to fallen Fireman William Tolley of 135 Truck and stopped at the Field Comm.

Later that night we stopped at the Animal House in the Bronx to visit my good friend Danny Alfonso of Engine 75. We didn’t get to chat too long since they just went out on a medical then the rig broke down. We went up and shot the breeze while they waited for the Emergency Crew to show up and fix the rig.

Then we made a stop at our usual spot, Full Moon Pizza in the Little Italy section of the Bronx. We apparently came at a bad time even though they didn’t close for another half hour.
