March 23rd Worcester Firefighters received calls reporting a motor vehicle accident with the vehicle on fire and the occupant possibly trapped behind the Lowes on Lincoln Street.

The first arriving police officer found the vehicle on fire with the driver trapped in the vehicle. The officers along with bystanders were able to remove the driver from the burning vehicle. He suffered extensive injuries.

It is unclear how or why the accident occurred but the driver came into the material storage area for Lowes. He got wedged in between some stockade fence and bark mulch.

Worcester Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control.
