March 24th DPW trucks gathered from all over eastern mass and as far away as New Hampshire at the Park and Ride lot in Millbury off the mass pike. The convoy was destined to head to Longmeadow to pay their respects to a fellow fallen DPW worker that was struck and killed by a train while plowing for the town during a recent snow storm.

Just like any fire or police department the dpw workers sent their colleague off in typical public service fashion with hundreds of dpw workers showing their support.

Here are a few images and videos of the contingent meeting in Millbury.

I’d like to thank Holden, MA DPW director John Woodsmall for tipping me off to this as I have a niche for photographing line of duty death funerals. It was a pleasure to try to document this event for dpw workers around the state.
